Hey 2A! This is so weird, having announcements at the end of 09. But it's about WOW. So read carefully!

Please read this entire announcement to the end.

1) Please check the Allocation list for what you have been assigned to. As far as possible you have been placed in options that you indicated in the TA2 Attachment Preferences Survey as having Very Strong or Strong Interest in. Your Overall GPA ranking and STP results were also taken into account.
The entries of your names in black will be your confirmed placements.

2)Those who opted for the museum attachments have to be assigned to 2 options because the museums reserve the right to select their interns and will only take up to 4 students, as far as is possible. For the 6 involved, the entries with your names in blue will be your alternate options.

The 6 who have been allocated the museums option must fill in the following form asap and attend an interview. Please turn up for the interview in full TJC uniform with tie.

3) For the 2 assigned to I2R please fill in your name in Part II of the following form and submit immediately to Dr Chin Zheng Yang:
zychin@i2r.astar.edu.sg.
Include a simple CV (account of what you have done - school levels passed; CCA)

4) The 4 students assigned to the Zoo and Bird Park must get flu jabs immediately - please get a doctor's receipt which you must produce when you turn up for the attachment. There will be no reimbursement for the jab so you must pay for it.

5) All those assigned to the Singapore Polytechnic Digital Animation must bring a cheque for $200 on 4 January. You will be informed later who to write the cheque to.

6) Finally, everyone must come to school at 8am on 4 January in your full TA black polo and skirt or pants. You will be briefed and then sent out to your attachment venues by 9am.

Point number 6 is very important, please remember to come to school. See you guys!

Hi guys,

After M U C H effort, the tickets have finally been more or less settled.

We sold 38 tickets. 8 more than needed.

that's like 38 x $8 = $ 304 for charity!!

STREET SALES

Anyway, as some of you might remember, I mentioned a street sales as part of our CIP!

WHAT?

We will be conducting a series of street sales selling exclusive School Pocket Money Fund teddy bears and Inspire post-it notes.

WHEN?

Various 4 hour slots from 31st May to 30th June. It's like flag day.

WHERE?

Not confirmed. More details later.

WHO?

Everyone in the class MUST do it. You can even ask others from other classes to join in. The more the better!

Class CIP - URGENT!

Hey guys! As some you know, my friend from VJ has approached me regarding TJC (IP)'s involvement in INSPIRE -

Inspire is a student-initiated project raising awareness and funds for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. The project is a Young ChangeMakers project, supported by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports and the National Youth Council. It is also a project supported by the YMCA Youth For Causes programme, organised by Citibank and the YMCA of Singapore, sponsored by the Citigroup Foundation and an event of the President’s Challenge.

The Inspire project has been part of the Citibank-YMCA Youth For Causes programme since 2004. In its first year, the project raised $21,000 for Child @ Street 11, while Inspire ‘05 and Inspire '06 raised $31,500 and $100,000 respectively for the School Pocket Money Fund.

The entire class can be involved with the CIP and CIP hours will be recorded down. Yes, it is most likely in the portfolio too cause its a rather big project involving many different schools. VJ is the district head which TJ is in.

However, I will need 8 people to be I/Cs of certain areas.

Team leader/District chief will be person in charge of leading the team.

Treasurer will be the person in charge of accounts for your team

Project Organiser is the one in charge of creative ideas for your team (i.e. implementation of the $3000 idea)

Charity Drive Liason will be in charge of any sponsorships/donations in the team

Ticketing Officer in charge of concert tickets, punbilicty for the concert etc. (don't worry, concert is planned and all publicity materials done)

Registration Officer in charge of the publicity of the Inspire run (a marathon) and also stuff like registration (run has also been planned)

Street Sales Officer in charge of volunteers for street sales, materials for street sales etc

Tuition Coordinator in charge of peer tutoring

Adviser (only for school teams) would be any teacher in your school to advise you on this project. Is optional.

All these may sound overwhelming but I think its a really great alternative to your normal flag day CIP (not that I have anything against flag day)

And being the selfish people we are, yes, I think it'd look great on your portfolio as well.

Note that it is compulsory for everyone involved to have a FB account - shouldn't be any problem for us judging by what we do during lessons. lol.

DO VOLUNTEER! Let me know ASAP if you're interested. If enough people step up, I'll ask Mr Cheng to be our Teacher Adviser.
